On Thursday 16th July 2026 I attended the Yorkshire Back Exchange meeting at Winncare Bradford. We had the usual business meeting and a fascinating tour around their factory and learned how they are streamlining their processes to reduce lead times.
We looked at the Luna hoist, interesting features included that it can be transported from room to room, it also have a very low profile so can be installed where ceilings are low.
The Systam positioning cushions to support someone in bed, alter pressure distribution and immersion. All the cushions can be made with removeable bamboo soft covers which is great against bare skin.
The Mangar Elk, Camel and Eagle were on show and demonstrated lifting someone who is uninjured form floor level to seated so they can stand up. Interested in moving them so they sit astride the corner so they can push themselves up more easily.
The Bariatric Reposioning Sheet, a whole bed sheet that combined with a double spreader bar – dual hoist – can lift a bariatric person off the bed for repositioning and turning.
